Nhuan Duc commune alone had a tunnel system connecting 4 hamlets: Bau Tran hamlet, Xom Bung hamlet, Ba Thien hamlet, Ben Dinh hamlet.

Because Ben Dinh has a very favorable terrain, with a forest of over 100 hectares, high, solid land, difficult to collapse, and located along the Saigon River, in case the enemy conducts a sweep, we can move towards the river to retreat safely. Therefore, the Cu Chi District Party Committee chose Ben Dinh as the basic base to lead and direct the army and people of Cu Chi in the fierce war with the US army from 1968 to 1975.
